Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan is looking to fill a Part Time Career Coach position in the Flint area.

$15.00  an hour
Monday - Friday; and some weekends as necessary.

As a  Career Coach with Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan, you’ll make a direct impact every day by helping individuals with barriers to employment explore career paths, develop new skills, and maintain meaningful, long-term employment through both traditional jobs and self-employment opportunities. You’ll provide hands-on coaching, encouragement, and practical guidance to help participants build job skills, confidence, and independence. This rewarding role supports Goodwill’s mission “to assist individuals with barriers to employment in making the transition to independence and self-sufficiency.”

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and promotion of each individual’s business.
  • Coordinate tasks/jobs within incubator space and/or community sites.
  • Ensure high quality of production of goods and services.
  • Assist individuals in reaching their IPOS goals, specifically with regard to their micro-enterprise business.
  • Ensure supplies are properly secured for each job.
  • Work on production, when necessary.
  • Coach and promote personal growth for each individual to reach quality standards.
  • Will primarily work in kitchen setting

Think you've got what it takes? 

Education and Training

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Previous production and/or training experience of at least two years highly desirable.
  • Must have computer skills and some graphic experience is a plus.
  • Experience in small business community preferred.
  • Must have past kitchen/baking experience.

E xperience

  • Ability to function as a job coach for people with disabilities.
  • Ability to drive and possess auto insurance.
  • Dependable, tact, resourcefulness, initiative, and good judgment.
  • Complete
  • MDCH Direct Care Training or equivalent.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and maintain car insurance.
