Job Summary and Qualifications The Business Intelligence Specialist is an analytically focused position for the interpretation and understanding of information systems used to serve the business and to drive portfolio health, negotiator performance, and enterprise process efficiency. The position will leverage existing reports and analytics to assess business problems and processes, harnessing BI knowledge and improving BI solutions across the enterprise. The Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for actively participating in the analysis of multiple aspects of the BI lifecycle from AdvantageTrust department and leadership team. The position works to ensure a standardized and consistent approach is taken, relating to BI reporting, data governance, and analytics. The Business Intelligence Specialist participates in agile execution of the product lifecycle, supports the development of solutions and goals, and is responsible for ensuring quality of delivered products. What you will do in this role Participate in all aspects of the BI lifecycle from requirements to data analysis, report analysis, and understanding of business processes. Build knowledge and assist in the execution of the appropriate strategies, plans, tools, and approaches to ensure successful development of BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards. Generate, format, interpret, and prepare reports, scorecards, and dashboards to support business owners and team objectives. With direction and supervision provide in depth “what if” analysis of data using available tools. Understand data in order to develop and design reports. Present data informally and facilitate discussions regarding data outputs. Collaborate with other internal team members to integrate solutions where additional data is required. Provide assistance for BI reporting solutions, potentially including engaging in joint-analysis with application development teams, assisting user adoption, documenting, and communicating standards and procedures. Strong analytical skills and Power BI experience required Participate in the analysis of multiple aspects of the BI lifecycle from requirements to data analysis, report automation, and thorough understanding of business processes With minimal direction and supervision, act as a subject matter specialist to assist development of the appropriate strategies, plans, tools, and approaches to ensure successful implementation of BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards Ensure that data management methodologies include steps, activities and deliverables required to consistently achieve high data quality. Create Microsoft PowerBI dashboards, and other reporting tools, to facilitate the display of data among non-programming users. Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to use data in improving usage and operational workflows. Present data formally and informally and facilitate discussion regarding data outputs. What qualifications you will need Associate’s Degree – required Bachelor’s Degree – preferred 5+ years of experience professional experience in a technical and/or analytics-based environment required 1+ year(s) of experience using PowerBI discovery-oriented tools Microsoft PowerBI certification preferred May require travel from time-to-time, but not on a regular basis.
