POSITION SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Specialist Supervisor will provide direction and supervision to the Behavioral Health Specialist staff working in the residential program for substance use.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for the safety of clients and the milieu.
- Schedule, train, orient, supervise, and evaluate Behavioral Health Specialist staff performance.
- Coach and supervise Behavioral Health Specialist staff in the residential milieu
- Works a variety of shifts to observe, train, and motivate staff.
- Provides on-call coverage 24/7 or designates an alternate On Call to provide Behavioral Health Specialist coverage when necessary due to absences.
- Assists Behavioral Health Specialist staff in planning and supervising client activities, such as 12 Step meetings, recreation, and cultural activities.
- Assists with observation of client self-administration of medication.
- Documents and monitors bed logs, daily logs, shift change reports, incidents/observations, milieu notes and notifies director when appropriate.
- Attends and participates in Adult Recovery Team Meetings as needed.
- Attends and participates in weekly clinical staffing meetings and communicates minutes to Behavioral Health Specialist team.
- Participates in treatment team meetings and communicates client goals to the Behavioral Health Specialist team.
- Attends and participates in management meetings as necessary.
- Supervises staff to the Arizona Department of Health Services rules and articles.
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: - Associate's degree required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- At least 2 years' supervisory experience, preferably in behavioral health
- At least 2 years' experience working in a substance abuse treatment environment
- Possess or able to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card
- CPR/First Aid Certificate within 90 days of hire
- Possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and reliable transportation
- Experience working with the Native American population preferred

This position is considered to be Exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws. Non-Exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per workweek. Native American Connections
