Azure Cloud Engineer, should possess extensive experience in managing and administering Microsoft Azure environments, including the configuration and optimization of compute, storage, networking, and identity services. The role requires proficiency in designing and maintaining High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) configurations using Azure Site Recovery, Availability Sets, Availability Zones, and Backup (using Rubrik) to ensure business continuity. Must also be skilled in integrating and managing SaaS applications-such as SAP, Workday, Prometheus, and M365-within the Azure ecosystem, ensuring secure connectivity and compliance alignment. Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) is essential for managing identity governance, role-based access control (RBAC), conditional access policies, and single sign-on (SSO) ( Okta/MS Entra ). Additional responsibilities include monitoring performance, automating deployments through PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform, implementing cost optimization strategies, and maintaining security posture through Defender for Cloud and compliance tooling.
Preferred certifications ( Expert Certification, nice to have but not required ):
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) , Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), and Microsoft Certified: Security Engineer Associate (SC-100 or SC-300) . Experience with SaaS platform integration, hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway) , and infrastructure as code (IaC) is highly desirable to ensure robust, scalable, and compliant cloud operations. Open to consider experience, project participation, and employment history in place of certifications.
