We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team on a short-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, with a focus on balance sheet reconciliations and system-based accounting work. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Montgomery, TX or Greater Houston Area - Hybrid

Position Type: Contract - 1 month (with potential to extend)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
• Work within the Northstar accounting system to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support month-end close activities.
• Utilize MS Excel to analyze, organize, and present financial data.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc accounting projects as needed

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on reconciliations
• Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.)
• Experience with Northstar or similar accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
