Under direct supervision, assists with selected routine and technical aspects of nursing care to patients of all ages. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Assists with maintaining a physical environment which promotes healing.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Spend Summer 2025 at Essentia Health-Fargo as a Student Nurse Intern in one of the following departments:

· Cardiac - Telemetry

· Critical Care Unit (CCU)

· Float/Swat Team

· Clinical Evaluation Unit (CEU)

· Emergency Department (ED)

· Medical/Surgical - Ortho

· Medical/Surgical – Neuro

· Procedural Units: OR/PACU/Cath Lab/IR/Endoscopy rotation

· Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

· Birthing Center

· Home Health rotation

Internship Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program
• Bachelor’s degree students: must have completed Junior year of nursing program prior to Summer 2025
• Associate degree students: must have completed two semesters of nursing clinical prior to Summer 2025
• Enrolled in a nursing co-operative internship course for the summer 2025 semester
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month of hire
• Must be able to commit to 32-40 hours/week (up to 400 hours for the entiresummer). Shifts: day, night, and weekend
• Students with full/part-time summer class loads will have adjusted hour requirements and must be able to commit to 32 hours every two weeks
