Doheny Memorial Library, Grand Re-opening

15 Aug 2012

Founded in 1931, USC’s Doheny Memorial Library is both historic and totally current, now renovated and retrofitted to accommodate today’s technological needs. To promote its grand re-opening, we spotlighted the dichotomy between tradition and technology-using tech-heavy elements against a backdrop of arresting photos of the library’s classical architecture. The design concept was so well received, it was soon applied to a full-fledged capital campaign. Note cards, postcards, bookmarks, posters and more were sold at the campus bookstore to help preserve unique resource.

SHOW and TELL

When our client, Santa Monica-based Library Alehouse, asked us to help promote the grand opening of their newly renovated interior space, we definitely thought outside the box – with custom-designed wooden nickels. These memorable coins-good for five dollars off any bar order- were an instant success with existing patrons and first-time visitors who soon became repeat customers. We say, give us a nickel for your thought every time. Especially a wooden one.
